Zwift is a turbo trainer game that lets you to link your turbo trainer to your computer, iPad, iPhone or Apple TV, letting you cycle with other cyclists in a virtual environment
Besides competing against others riders in Zwift racers, you can also have specific training sessions and can access workouts designed by the pros.
Zwift also says the game can be better than cycling outdoors where “weather, traffic, time constraints and distance from other cyclists can take the fun out of it.”
Zwift costs £12.99 a month with the option that you can cancel any time.
The most obvious thing you need to use Zwift is a turbo trainer. If you want immersive game play, are going to be using it regularly, and can afford it, then a smart turbo trainer such as the Wahoo Kickr orTacx Neo Smart could be a good option.
At the very basic level you can use any old turbo trainer with an ANT+ or Bluetooth speed sensor.
Zwift can be run on Windows, iOS, iPhone, iPad or AppleTV. A Beta version of the app has also been released for Google Play people.
There are five maps on Zwift: the huge base map of Watopia, and smaller maps in New York City, London, Richmond and Innsbruck
