WHAT IS THE TOUR DE YORKSHIRE 2019?
The Tour De Yorkshire is a UCI-approved 2.HC Europe Tour international cycle race that is one of the biggest races in the UK in 2019 and an event in the international cycling calendar. Some of the top international teams are taking part and a two day womens race taking place between 3 – 4 May. It can be seen live on TV in the UK and worldwide. There are 4 stages: Starting in Doncaster and finishes at .Selby Stage 2 starts in Barnsley finishing in Bedale. Stage 3 starts in Bridlington finishing in Scarborough and lastly, Stage 4c starts in Halifax culminating in Leeds.
WHEN IS IT TAKING PLACE?
Between 2 – 5 May 2019.
HOW LONG IS THE ROUTE?
The men’s course will is 617.5KM over four stages with one stage each day.
The women’s course will cover 264KM over two stages – one stage each day.
WILL THERE BE THE SAME LEVEL OF ROAD CLOSURES AS FOR TOUR DE FRANCE?
No. Most will be rolling road closures lasting up to an hour, apart from the start and finish lines and some climbs where road closures will be longer. These will be supervised by the police. Some sections of the route need to be closed for longer periods, and will be announced shortly.
WILL THE ROUTE BE THE SAME EACH YEAR?
No, the route around Yorkshire is different each year.
WHICH RIDERS AND TEAMS WILL BE COMPETING?

HOW MANY SPECTATORS ARE EXPECTED?
Around 2.8 million people watched the race in 2018.

WHERE CAN I WATCH THE RACE?
Spectators can watch the event for free anywhere along the route but starts, finishes and climb locations will be the busiest areas. The race is live on ITV4.
WHAT ARE THE RACE COLOURS?
The race colours are yellow and bright blue.
CAN I USE THE TOURS LOGO?
Only sponsors of the event can use the Tour de Yorkshire logo.
WILL THERE BE TELEVISION COVERAGE?
All 4 stages plus the Women’s Race will be onlive TV.
WHY DOES THE TOUR NOT GO TO SOME PARTS OF YORKSHIRE?
The first Tour de Yorkshire took place mainly in areas which missed out on the Tour De France start region.Welcome to Yorkshire work with local authorities who were keen to support the new race and A.S.O.
WHAT IS THE TOUR DE YORKSHIRE RIDE?
This is a unique opportunity for cyclists to ride the Tour de Yorkshire route, experience the Tour de France legacy and to pave the way for the pro riders. Thousands are expected to take part in the charity event, making it one of the biggest sportive in the UK.
