Fully Charged, at London Bridge and also Silverstone in Northamptonshire, will be renting the bikes to doctors and nurses in London for three months at no charge during the Coronavirus period.
The scheme started Monday 30 March, with 20 bikes available immediately through a partnership with Gocycle, which is supplying its GS model, at £1,999.
NHS staff in London can sign up and Fully Charged mechanics will assemble the bikes and carry out pre-delivery inspections.
At Fully Charged they are exempt from closing down, our focus is on supporting the country’s key workers eg NHS staff who are going above and beyond to help COVID-19 patients.
With cycling events cancelled, many demo bikes are going sat idle. Fully Charged is grateful to their business partners for enabling them to get these eBikes to NHS workers for their use during these times.
With far less traffic on the roads, and the reduced number of trains, eBikes are probably the best solution for NHS workers to move around the city.
The last thing front line staff need after a grueling day saving lives is being squashed in a crowded train carriage or bus or standing in a long queue.
Bicycles are part of the solution, but tired legs will appreciate an electric motor to assist them home with less effort.
Be sure to wear a cycle safety helmet.
