The Boardman HYB 8.9e Women e-bike 2020 is a flat-bar hybrid style e-bike, which uses the popular Fazua Evation drive system .
Its flat handlebar and upright geometry make the HYB is suited to leisure riding and commuting. A 10 speed Shimano Deore drivetrain gives a wide spread of gears. The HYB feautres Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and Schwalbe 35mm Citizen tyres with added puncture protection.
The Fazua Evation Drive System
The Fazua Evation e-bike drive system features an integrated 250w motor capable of producing 60Nm of torque combined with a removable 250Wh battery which gives a range of up to 56 miles* on the Breeze Mode” setting.
Using sensors, the Fazua system closely monitors your pedaling and feeds in power smoothly when you need it, stopping instantly when you stop pedaling. There are three levels of assistance to choose from using the handlebar remote control, which also shows battery charge levels.
The whole Fazua system weighs 4.6Kg. The combined battery and motor can also be removed and replaced with a lightweight cover (sold separately), meaning you can ride your e-bike just like a regular bike with barely any weight penalty and no extra drivetrain resistance if you decide you don’t need any assistance. The lightweight cover also doubles as a storage area.
