The Rebellion Way is a 232-mile / 373km cycling route around Norfolk. Its a mix of quiet roads, bridleways, cycle paths and bridleways. It takes its name from 2 Norfolk rebellions; Boudica’s Rebellion in AD60-61 and Kett’s Rebellion in 1549.
The 232 miles might seem daunting its quite a flat route. This coupled with the normally mild Norfolk weather and lots of cafes on route makes the Rebellion way an ideal introduction to multi day bike packing / bike touring. In fact the Rebellion Way has been designed to be not just achievable but very enjoyable for riders of all abilities. The route is designed to be ridden in four to six days and passes through Norwich, King’s Lynn and Sandringham. If time is short you can cut across the middle between Stoke Holy Cross and Swaffham to create two shorter loops.
Along the route you was pass through the Norfolk Broads, ride the Bure Valley Path, ride along the coastline at Sheringham, Wells-Next-The-Sea and Hunstanton. At Snettisham you will pass the famous Roman site then onto Sandringham to ride the cycle trail through the country park. From here the route takes in Castle Acre and Diss before returning back to Norwich.
