The Loch Leven Heritage Trail in Scotland is suitable for all ages and abilities of walkers, joggers, cyclists, wheelchair users and motorised scooter. Its also pushchair-friendly. Loch Leven in Kinross shire is between Edinburgh at 31 miles and Perth at 20 miles. The nearest town being Kinross and there is a bus service from Kinross

It is a fairly level trail and follows a cycle path round the Loch Leven National Nature Reserve. The route goes via several beauty spots around the loch side also through woods and marshy land. Birdlife is abundant for those that show an interest. Refreshments and food are available along the route in several locations.

Total Distance is 19.25km or 12 miles. Time is 5/6 hours. Start Grid Ref, is NO123019. The trail is mostly a traffic-free trail around Loch Leven and well signposted.

Start & Finish:

You can park in the Findatie car park which is signposted on the B9097 road. Lots  of spaces available. The Trail starts through the gap in the wall; turn right and cycle down to the path beside the Leven Cut.You can park and enter the trail at Kinross Pier, Kirkgate Park, Burleigh Sands, Loch Leven’s Larder, Findatie Car Park, RSPB Loch Leven and Cashmere at Lochleven. Also by bicycle at Mary’s Gate and Grahamstone Farm. The bus service is available on certain days connecting the Loch to the Park and Ride at Kinross.
