1.3 million Brits Bought a Bike during Lockdown
It is reported that over 1.3 million Britons bought a bike during coronavirus lockdown, as people took advantage of the exercise freedoms that were allowed during the pandemic lockdown and the UK Government encouraged the population to avoid crowded public transport.
Bike retailers stayed open during the UK lockdown and are one of the few business sectors to have received a boost from the coronavirus pandemic with many stores experiencing huge increases sales and struggling to keep up with demand. Most major bike retailers sold out of both bikes and spares.
E-Bikes have also seen a dramatic increase in sales with many commuters looking to avoid public transport post pandemic. Secondhand bikes have also seen a huge increase in prices.
